Every human being is a child of God. God loves everyone to the maximum. As the scriptures say He has written all the names in the palm of His hand, which shows the great love towards every one. But there are some people who love God very much and want to be His favorite children. In the hectic life of today, most of us forget that we all are His favorite children.
God has created everyone to be His favorite child and love Him very much. How can we show our love to Him? It is through our thoughts, words and deeds. It is by sharing real love with others, that we can prove that we love God. The purpose of our creation is to show our love in every way in our day-to-day activities and reach Him after our life journey on this earth.
What are the special characteristics that are shown by the favorite children of God?
Saint Peter describes in his letter about the special characteristics of the favorite or the chosen people of God. He says, “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; onceyou had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." (1 Peter2: 9-10)
1) God chose the favorite children
Some are enjoying the grace of God in a special way because He has chosen them as Christians, His favorite children. They are His choice. They are blessed in a special manner which only their unending relationship with God can understand and enjoy.
2) They belong to the Royal Priesthood
The Priesthood in the Old Testament was greater than kingship. A king could not become a priest. But the Christians, the favorite children of God, are both Royal and anointed priests. In Jesus Chris, God calls every believer into this new category. They are the inherited princes and princesses of the Heavenly King and have unrestricted intimate access to God.
3) The favorite children are the heir of a holy nation
They are sealed by the Holy Spirit as the sons and daughters of God and nothing can dissolve this bond of relationship.
4) They are God’s own
They are the most affectionate children of God the Father. They have been purchased by the most valuable blood of Christ.
